The Jaguar Land Rover Band is a championship brass band that has entertainment at the top of its agenda. Based in Coventry, this famous brass band features thirty of the finest brass and percussion players from across the midlands region.
The band is in great demand for concerts across the UK and has conducting numerous tours throughout Europe and the USA. The bands extensive repertoire stretches a wide spectrum of musical styles often reflected in the bands concert work which includes music from the classics, big-band, shows and traditional repertoires.
In addition the band is often featured on TV and radio. The band can often be seen supporting the BBC's Songs of Praise and annually supporting the Christmas broadcasts for BBC Coventry & Warwickshire radio. In 2010, it became the first brass band to perform at the prestigious English Music Festival, performing alongside professional orchestras, singers and instrumentalists.
The band has had numerous contest successes over its rich 70 year history. This includes competing at the National Finals, the British Open and the All England Masters. In 2006 the band was invited to compete as the USA Open Brass Band Championships held in Chicago and was once again featured in the prizes. The pinnacle however, was in 2013 when the band was crowned midland area champions for the first time in its history, and representing the midlands at the National Brass Band Finals of Great Britain held at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The bands main activity is playing as a 30 piece brass band; however they can often be seen featured in quartets and 10 piece ensembles. Uniquely the band also has one of very few remaining Fanfare Teams playing on a full set of traditional fanfare trumpets.
This all-volunteer organisation upholds the traditions of superb music making and focus on sharing their unique style of entertainment for the benefit and enjoyment of others. The band aims to be ambassadors for Jaguar Land Rover, the midlands and to ensure those listening are entertained and 'thrilled' with each and every performance.
